The province of Pampanga is famous for its food, thus called the “Culinary Capital of the Philippines.” The City of San Fernando is the capital of the province, wherein Kapampangan, the province’s native language, is the sixth (6th) most spoken native language in the country. Aside from foods, Pampanga is also famous as the “Christmas Capital” of the country because of its famous lanterns. An annual Giant Lanterns Festival is celebrated annually every December. Its major industries also include farming and fishing.

Pampanga was named by the Spaniards as “La Pampanga” when they discovered natives living along the riverbanks. At that time, the Pampanga River is the largest river in the country. Its name originated from the term pangpang or pampang which means riverbank. Nothing is more suitable than its name since Pampanga is a flat province that is crisscrossed by hundreds of small lakes flowing and leading to the Pampanga River.

1. MOUNT PINATUBO

Aside from agricultural and culinary, the province, is also famous for its tourist attractions located around the province. One of the historical and iconic tourist spot is the Mount Pinatubo. It is located along the border of Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales. If you are an adventurous soul looking for a must-experience adventure, Mount Pinatubo is the place to be. Other package travels include transfers from Manila to the mountain making it less hassle for the travelers.

2. THE SANDBOX

Another place to visit in the province is the Sandbox, located at Alviera Subd., Sapang Uwak Rd., Porac, Pampanga. It is another place to visit for the adventurous people looking for fun and exciting activities. Sandbox offers various outdoors activities such as its famous Giant Swing, Aerial Walk Challenge, Roller Coaster Zipline, Adventure Tower and more. Sandbox also offers attractions such as ATV rides and outdoor archery.

3. ZOOCOBIA FUN ZOO

A 50-hectare zoo and theme park located at Clark Freeport, Angeles, Pampanga is one of the places to put on your checklist. It has the following features: a labyrinth and a garden maze full of animal topiaries, a gallery of stuffed real animal preserves, Zooc, and a gravity car track that has a unique steering and braking system. The entrance fee costs PHP 350 per person.

4. DINOSAURS ISLAND

If you are an adventurous soul, Pampanga is really the place to be. The Dinosaurs Island, located at Clark Picnic Grounds, Gil Puyat Ave., Mabalacat, Pampanga, is a place for kids, and kids at heart, who would like to experience life-size moving dinosaur displays. The place also has a Fossil Museum where you will see various dinosaur fossils. It also has an Adventure Ride wherein you get to ride an imitation of these extinct creatures. For real-life dinosaur experience, the place offers a Jurassic Safari Ride. It also offers a 7D Super Screen Theater and the replicas of the wonders of the world.

5. NAYONG PILIPINO

Nayong Pilipino will give you a glimpse of the past. It is a 45-hectare tourist attraction that has replicas of the well-known sites in the Philippines. From the Magellan’s Cross in Cebu to the Chocolate Hills in Bohol.  Life-size statues of our national heroes and political figures can be found here. It also has the Mabini House, Jose Rizal’s House and the Mansion of President Emilio Aguinaldo. These houses and shrines also contains artifacts found inside. Nayong Pilipino is located at Centennial Rd, Clark Field, Mabalacat, Pampanga.

6. PRADERA WAKE PARK

The park is located at Prado, Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga. Water adventures and other fun activities can be done inside the park. It uses a regeneration lake wherein it is clean 24 hours and does not use any chemicals. Aside from the wake park, it has an 18-hole golf course that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

7. AQUA PLANET WATER PARK

Located at Clark Freeport, Mabalacat, Pampanga, Aqua Planet is a 10-hectare water park. It has over 25 attractions and waterslides. It is the Largest Water Park in the Philippines. Aqua Planet offers water attractions such as wave pool for adults, Tornado, Slip N Slide, Lazy River, Spiral Slide and more.

8. FONTANA WATER PARK

Fontana is located at CM Recto Highway, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. It has 10 water park features with 6 kinds of waves. It also has a slide which is known as the Big Horn. It also has features such as the Idle River, three Giant Aqua Slides, Water Factory an Olympic Size Pool, a Hot Spring, and more.
